Yannis Moati and his team got frustrated with the inflexibility of hotel check-ins, so they launched HotelsByDay.com in 2015 to allow guests the ability to book modular hotel stays by blocks of hours.

Q: What would you like to see your team accomplish in 2019?

Besides doubling revenues? I wish to see our team accomplish the impossible by partnering with both an airline company and a dating company.

Q: Who is your role model or hero?

My role model is Barack Obama, for his sense of decency and genuine attempt to build a caring society. My hero is my wife, for baring me for the last years since the startup launch.

Q: What is your favorite book?

The Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett.

Q: Do you use any specific method or system to run daily operations?

I find WhatsApp group chats to be more agile to use than Slack channels.

Q: Looking back - if you could advise a younger version of yourself to do something different - what would it be?

Get to the hotel industry right away and never look back!
