Sania Gupta is an award-winning digital marketer and the founder of a stellar Web Development and Digital Marketing Agency, Digital Kangaroos. Within a span of just a few years, she has been able to carve a niche within the domestic barriers as well as across the globe, majorly in Australia, USA, Canada, Germany and the Middle East.

Q: What inspired you to found Digital Kangaroos and what were the main challenges you faced?

I started my career as a professor in Computer Science in a reputed college and blogged occasionally on my personal blog. Meanwhile, I started learning about search engine algorithms and optimization techniques and went into deeper levels. Gradually, my entrepreneurial spirit and love for digital space intensified as I expanded my skill set.

Things just snowballed and this led to the inception of Digital Kangaroos. 

As I already knew the thing, I hit the ground running by offering ingenious SEO services, impressive content writing and social media marketing solutions. Alongside providing end-to-end digital marketing solutions, we have scaled up and started providing full-fledged website development services. This omni-channel strategy enables us to emerge as a single-stop company catering digital goals for individuals and businesses (big or small).  

The journey wasn’t easy. Indian markets are not that liberal as international markets. Our capabilities are still questioned and most people still believe that a woman entrepreneur can’t give her 100%. This is something what I feel is the biggest roadblock that I was and I am fighting to break this anarchy.  

Q: Did you start the venture alone?

Yes, I started the journey alone. It all started with the support of my well wishers and continuous encouragement from my family. I love being surrounded by passionate people. They help my juices going on! They come from all walks of life, not just digital marketing.

Q: In your opinion, what are some key opportunities in the digital marketing space going forward?

Digital Marketing is quickly changing the pace of brands. Covid-19, the global pandemic has further escalated the need of Digital Marketing as people are afraid of stepping out and prefer online businesses for all their needs. From doctors to real estate and from beauty salons to education, Digital is the future!

Apart from SEO, some other opportunities in digital marketing space are Artificial Intelligence (AI), Voice optimization, personalization and influencer marketing. 

Q: What's your business model, and how have you grown your revenue?

We begin by understanding the requirements and expectations of our customers. After performing a deep competitive analysis, we deliver roadmap and estimates to our client. We offer both fixed as well as flexible billing options for our services. The client can opt for any of the packages depending on his budget.

The key difference that differentiates Digital Kangaroos from others in the market is that we strive for emotional difference and not just competitive difference. We have grown our revenue by providing quality and result-driven digital marketing and web development services at affordable-prices. Customer satisfaction is our biggest asset. We have been successful in winning the trust and loyalty of the clients to a great extent.

Q: Do you think luck played a role in the success of your company?

Hard to say! I believe that “Luck” is one of the factors responsible for success but is definitely not a sole criterion. In fact, I personally feel that focussing on continuous learning, delivering quality work and improving speed and execution timings can dramatically improve your customer satisfaction and thus, mitigate the outcomes of “luck”. 

Q: What are your goals for the future?

There are 4 S’s that I want to accomplish while I have already achieved a few of them, more is yet to be accomplished. These are Sales, Speak (Get closer to my customers), Serve (Expand my Team and add value) and Sizzle (global recognition). And of course, I make sure that all the goals are attainable, measurable and time-bound.

Q: If you had to start over, what would you do differently?

If had to start over, I would have started offering web designing and development services from day zero. 

Q: Can you talk about one woman who has impacted your life?

My mother has been a constant source of inspiration in my life since childhood. She has always inspired me to become independent and successful in life.

Apart from that I am a big fan of Oprah Winfrey. Her ideals motivate me to never give up on my goals and break away from my fears.

Q: What are your favourite books?

There are many books that I love but ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne is my favourite. It has taught me how to unleash the power of positivity and manifestation. 

Q: What's your advice for female founders who are just starting out?

Every day is a new day with plethora of opportunities rolling out especially when you’re building a business. Follow your heart, give your best shot and believe in yourself. You never know when your action creates a ripple effect with an audacity to make a difference.
