Almost 20 years of corporate hospitality experience led her to the idea that a space itself should feel hospitable and special. Jessica L Snyder embarked on a journey to learn about the ins and outs of Interior Design so that she could bring this vision to life for others.

Jessica L Snyder, FMP: Any space that you spend time in should feel comfortable and fit the mood, function, and style of your life. Anything less then that will inhibit the work or home life you're trying to lead. The uniqueness of my blending of event design and interior design means that I work with you from A to Z for planning the design of your space and then because I've been lucky enough to get to know you throughout that process, I can plan the perfect reveal party for your new space!

Q: What would you like to see your team accomplish in 2019?

For 2019 we are looking forward to working on some amazing residential projects and hope to get into some small scale commercial projects as well. We are in the beginning stages of partnerships with a few new vendors in order to streamline processes, and can't wait to see where that takes us!

Q: Who is your role model or hero?

Wow, this is a tough one. I don't have one specific person. It's more of a concept. Anyone that lives their life with verve and a passion to live their dream is someone I want to emulate. Someone that is hungry to go after their best self, and share that motivation with others around them.  My role model is someone that realizes that they want something, and they're going to go after it full throttle. But it's more than this, it's someone who feels this way and feels just as strongly that they need to share this feeling and help others find what they love and get to their goal. My hero is someone that believes that the dots will connect down the road and has the confidence to follow their heart, even if it leads them off the well-worn path.

My role model is someone that realizes that they want something, and they're going to go after it full throttle.

Q: What is your favorite book?

Utopia by Thomas Moore.

Q: Do you use any specific method or system to run daily operations?

There is no specific method, but there is a principle. I was taught early on that communication is imperative to maintaining and growing client relationships. This holds true for how you communicate as well as when. You could say that our method is to ensure that all communication is resolved the same day. Don't let the day finish out without resolving all open communications with clients and vendors. I think this really sets JL Snyder Events & Design apart and goes to show a higher level of hospitality than other companies.

Q: Looking back - if you could advise a younger version of yourself to do something different - what would it be?

I would say that the best piece of advice I could give would be to not be afraid to identify and follow a dream. Too often we grow up thinking you only get one dream. That's not the case and that's a lot of pressure on a young person. Find a thing you love, and go after it. Master it, and then move on to finding the next thing that you love. There is no limit to things that you're allowed to learn or love, and keeping that passion going throughout your life is so important to feeling fulfilled. If you're lucky, you'll find multiple things that you love for a really long time, and feel all that much more fulfilled.
